[K-Exclusive]: VERIVERY Shares their Thoughts on Previous U.S. Tour, Comeback, and More in Exclusive Interview
On March 23rd, boy group VERIVERY released their latest album “SERIES ‘O’ [ROUND 0 : WHO],” along with title track “O.” The album and song release come a few months after the group wrapped up their U.S. tour, and ahead of the release, Officially Kmusic was fortunate enough to sit down and speak with the members (via Zoom) about the release, the tour, and more!
You recently completed your first ever U.S. tour! Can each of you describe how it felt to meet your U.S. VERRERs with one word?
MINCHAN : VERRER!
YONGSEUNG : Awesome.
HOYOUNG : Happy!
KANGMIN : Fantastic.
GYEHYEON : Wonderful!
YEONHO : Beautiful!
DONGHEON : Amazing!
And on the same topic of touring, you guys recently released your U.S. tour documentary series, “Let’s Face Who We Are.” What did you want to show to your fans with this series?
DONGHEON : We wanted to show a more natural side to us.
What can VERRERs expect to see from you in the upcoming episode?
YEONHO : There’s a part that I like best, where Dongheon is really upset during rehearsal, and he looks very sexy.
You just announced your digital single release with “SERIES ‘O’ [ROUND 0: Who.” Can you tell us a little bit about the concept for the comeback?
YONGSEUNG : This concept is a little different from our previous styles after debut. It’s a little more sexy, and it shows an imperfect time where young boys are trying to navigate the dangerous steps between their hearts desire and the scars that border it, so even the styling is a little bit different.
Which member do you think best suits the teaser photo concepts?
YONGSEUNG : I think Kangmin really suits his hair color and style. I think it’s perfect.
HOYOUNG : I personally like Yongseung. His hair was toned down to more of a black color, and it actually suits him really well, so I like it.
KANGMIN : I think Hoyoung also looks really good in these photos.
GYEHYEON : I think Minchan! His eyes expression were really focused.
DONGHEON : I think I suit it the best. I had freckles makeup on and I think it came out cute and looked good.
If you could choose a brand new concept for your next comeback, what is something you would like to try?
YEONHO : Up until this release, there really isn’t any concepts we haven’t tried yet. For the next one, maybe something for hip hop, or something more loose?
Since TikTok dance challenges are very trendy right now, will you guys come up with a dance challenge for the upcoming release, too?
Of course, we have our TikTok dance challenge coming up. Please try it!
Will you be promoting the new release on music shows?
HOYOUNG : Yeah, we will go on music programs very soon, I think this week.
What is something you will promise VERRERs to do if you have your first win?
DONGHEON : Do you know what a full deep bow is? It’s a Korean tradition. A very meaningful gift to fans I would like to give.
With the new comeback single and having just finished touring not too long ago, you guys have been very busy lately. What is each member’s favorite way to de-stress?
MINCHAN : If I’m stressed, I either play games or watch anime. I recently have been watching Violet Evergarden.
YONGSEUNG : I like watching football with our members during dinner!
HOYOUNG : I like taking a walk. Just around our house and listening to music, that’s what I do to get all my stress out. By myself, not with my members. They’re too distracting!
KANGMIN : I also like watching football with our members!
GYEHYEON : I think sleeping is the best way to de-stress for me.
YEONHO : I like to lay in bed and watch dramas or variety shows to get rid of stress. I’ve been watching Twenty-Five Twenty-One recently, you should watch it!
And finally, to express your love for VERRERs, can you do a quick acrostic poem for “베러”?
YONGSEUNG :
