Prepare to be swept by D.O.’s admirable acting skills once again K-Drama fans! He will return to the acting scene soon by starring in a law-themed drama!
After taking the music scene by storm with his solo album and movie appearances, EXO’s D.O. is now ready to take on a new challenge by accepting a role in the upcoming KBS drama, True Swordsmanship (literal title: Prosecutor Jin’s Victory)!
The program tells the story of a prosecutor named Jin Jung, who has bad manners and a delinquent attitude. He breaks down the sanctuaries created by wealth and power, and even takes down the greedy people living in those sanctuaries.
Jin also uses expedient methods over conventional ones, tricks over standard procedures, and delinquency over sincerity in order to stop the corrupt and abusive authorities from undermining society. Focusing on a refreshing sense of justice, the drama aims to make viewers forget about the frustrating and painful reality.
D.O.’S HIGHLY ANTICIPATED TRANSFORMATION
EXO’s D.O. will take on the lead role of Jin Jung, a prosecutor at the third division of the Central District Prosecutors’ Office. He is a devilishly charming man with an unprecedentedly crazy attitude. However, at the same time, Jin Jung has a deep sense of justice and conscience. He fights on the side of those who are weak, battling evil an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth and getting revenge tenfold.
With this, it will be quite interesting to see how the idol will pull off such a unique character, particularly their emotions, appearance, and thoughts, especially since Jin Jung has a strong personality.
This will mark D.O.’s comeback to the small screen since he starred in the hit tVN drama, 100 Days My Prince. He also gained recognition for his incredible portrayals in It’s Okay, That’s Love, Cart, My Annoying Brother, Swing Kids, and Along with the Gods.
Director Kim Sung Ho of Netflix’s Move to Heaven and Lim Young Bin who co-wrote JTBC’s Sketch will take charge of the drama’s production. It will be co-produced by Neo Entertainment, which is responsible for the success of The Uncanny Counter, and Blaad Studio, which produced the Along with the Gods series.
Actress Lee Se Hee has also confirmed her appearance as the female lead role opposite D.O.
The production team shared, “Prosecutor Jin’s Victory is a drama that will deliver great satisfaction and thrill that viewers have yet to feel until now through refreshing [scenes] in which the crazy delinquent prosecutor works at the villains’ eye levels.”
